01 Overview

Amic Energy Polska needed a mobile app that would simplify how drivers and fleet managers handle fuel payments and card management. The goal was to replace physical fuel cards with a single mobile experience that allows users to pay for fuel, manage multiple cards, and quickly access station-related information directly from their phone.

02 Problem

Both drivers and fleet managers struggled with fragmented and inefficient workflows. Drivers often worked with multiple employers and had to carry several physical fuel cards at the same time. Managing them during everyday fueling was inconvenient, especially under time pressure. Fleet managers faced a different challenge: scale. A single manager could be responsible for dozens of cards assigned across employees, vehicles, or companies. As the number of cards grew, finding and organizing the correct one became increasingly difficult. The challenge was to design a system that stayed fast, clear, and easy to navigate for both occasional and high-volume usage.

03 Aproach

To move quickly, we reused patterns from the existing Amic Club application, which allowed faster iteration and partial code reuse. The project started with an in-person workshop focused on understanding real operational needs. From there, the product evolved through rapid iterations and continuous feedback rather than a fixed roadmap. Working closely with stakeholders while handling most of the design process independently required balancing flexibility with consistency across the entire experience.

04 Solution

The final product became an app with mobile wallest for fuel cards and a practical everyday tool for drivers and fleet managers. Users can pay for fuel directly from the app, manage multiple cards in one place, and access real-time information about stations and available services. As the product evolved, card management became one of the key UX challenges. While a carousel worked well for users with only a few cards, it became inefficient for managers handling larger fleets. To improve scalability, I introduced: ・custom wallets for grouping cards, ・a switch between carousel and list views, ・and faster scanning patterns for high-volume usage. These changes allowed the interface to scale naturally from individual drivers to large fleet operations without increasing complexity.
