01 Overview
Aware Film Pictures is a visual identity project created for an independent filmmaking collective focused on musicians, underground artists, and youth-driven brands. The goal was to build a brand that feels cinematic, emotional, and raw rather than polished or corporate.

03 Aproach
The process began with visual research focused on underground music culture, experimental cinema, punk-inspired editorial layouts, and analog photography. Moodboard was developed to explore dark atmospheres, distorted compositions, cinematic lighting, and raw textures that could define the emotional tone of the brand.

04 Solution
The final outcome was a cohesive visual identity that captures the cinematic, emotional, and independent spirit of Aware Film Pictures. The identity combines bold typography, raw textures, and expressive visual elements to create a recognizable system that reflects the collective's connection to underground culture and storytelling. To ensure consistency across different touchpoints, I developed a comprehensive brand book outlining the visual language, logo usage, typography, color palette, and brand applications. I also created a brand video that translated the identity into motion, helping communicate the atmosphere, values, and creative direction of the collective.

05 Challenges & Learnings
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was creating a symbol that authentically represented Aware Film Pictures. The identity needed to feel distinctive and memorable without relying on predictable filmmaking clichés. Finding the right balance between artistic expression and visual clarity required extensive exploration and iteration. Another challenge was developing a visual language that embraced the raw, emotional nature of underground culture while remaining cohesive and adaptable across different applications. Through this process, I gained valuable experience translating abstract concepts, emotions, and cultural influences into a structured brand system. The project strengthened my skills in logo development, visual storytelling, and motion branding, while reinforcing the importance of balancing creative experimentation with strategic design decisions. It also highlighted how a strong identity can remain expressive and unconventional while still functioning consistently across digital, print, and motion-based touchpoints.
